The Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 stipulates four very specific requirements to qualify a whiskey as bottled-in-bond.
- First, Bonded whiskey must be from a single distillery
- And, it must be from a single distillation season
- The whiskey must be aged in a federally bonded warehouse for at least 4 years
- And finally, the whiskey has to be Bottled at 100 Proof
